Marc Brackett is the Founding Director for the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence (EI), and Professor at the Child Study Center at Yale’s School of Medicine. Marc is also the author of Permission to Feel, which is one of the best books of read in the past year.

Marc and I talked about EI, why he’s dedicated his life’s work to the topic and how we can develop this skill as people and professionals. Specifically, I wanted to understand if there is EI at the team level and company level, and how that affects team or company performance.

Marc and I also discuss how technology is impacting our ability to exhibit higher levels of EI. Given the rapid digitalization due to COVID, this is a topic that has fascinated me for a while now.

Finally, Marc puts me “in the chair” and I share some personal stories – something that has happened on the show before, but definitely gets me thinking and wondering about where I can improve.

Such a pleasure to have Marc on the show and an incredible amount of learning during out time together!
